Dover is a major channel port situated in the south west area of the English county of Kent. Dover is mostly famous for its white cliffs, which are made of acient sea creatures and the lime shells that fell into the water and were compressed into the land 80 millions years ago. The white cliffs are the first sight of England that can be seen from ships travelling from France, Belgium and the surrounding countries which regularly use Dover as the gateway to United Kingdom. Dover sees 15million people as well as cargo pass through its port every year. Dover also hosts many familiar features of any English town, with shops, restaurants, bars and a museum as well as Dover castle. |
